Shipping Questions We Help Customers Answer
Many customers contact us after purchasing equipment, dock sections, or fencing materials and realizing they now need a way to get it delivered. Here are the most common shipping questions we help answer.
- What types of freight does Nickels Brokerage handle?
-
Nickels Brokerage coordinates shipments that don’t move well on standard dock-to-dock freight. We arrange transportation for oversized equipment, boat docks, bundled pipe and sucker rods, construction materials, and machinery delivered to farms, rural properties, marinas, and job sites.
- Can you deliver to a farm, ranch, or lake property?
-
Many shipments we handle go to locations without loading docks. We coordinate drivers, trailer type, and delivery timing so freight can safely reach rural properties, waterfront locations, and installation sites.
- Do oversized loads require permits?
-
Shipments exceeding legal width, height, length, or weight limits often require state permits and route planning. We arrange permits, routing, and scheduling when needed and explain any restrictions before the truck is dispatched.
- How do I know what trailer my shipment needs?
-
After reviewing the dimensions, weight, and delivery location, we determine whether the load should move on a flatbed, step-deck, lowboy, extendable trailer, or other specialized equipment.
- I already purchased equipment or materials — can you arrange pickup?
-
Most customers contact us after purchasing equipment, fencing materials, or dock sections. We coordinate pickup from the seller or supply yard and arrange delivery to the final destination.
- What information do you need for a shipping quote?
-
We typically need the item description, dimensions (length, width, height), approximate weight, pickup location, and delivery location. Photos are helpful but not required.
Customer Testimonials
Trusted by shippers big and small.
I have been working with Nickels Brokerage for 10+ years. They are dependable, honest, professional, caring, and extremely hard working. Dan works very hard finding the right drivers / rates for our needs and our customers. They take care of about 99% of ALL of our full loads, partial loads and hotshot loads. I will continue to work with Nickels Brokerage as long as I am in logistics.
Used them to move a load of floating dock pavers to NC and was fair rate. Delivery was on time and the driver notified us before arrival. Everything worked out well.
I own Advanced Transportation LLC and working with Nickels was a smooth and easy experience. One of the few brokers out there who actually tries to work with the truckers.
Great experience with this outfit. Dan communicated well about the delivery status and Dave (the guy who was delivering the shipment) gave us updates on a regular basis.
